We had always dreamed of living near the water — somewhere peaceful, with soft breezes and an easy rhythm of life. After visiting the Bahamas, we realized that the Caribbean held something special for us, but we hadn't yet found "our place." So, we kept searching.
Belize kept appearing in our research — a small country with a big heart, English-speaking, rich in culture, and kissed by the Caribbean Sea. Eventually, curiosity became conviction, and we booked a trip to see it for ourselves.
From the moment we stepped off the plane in San Pedro, we knew. The warm smiles, the sound of golf carts on sandy roads, the scent of the sea — it all felt like home. There was an energy here that was both vibrant and calming, familiar yet wonderfully new.
We fell in love instantly, not just with the island, but with the way it made us feel. That feeling became the inspiration for Onda Belize.
We wanted to create a place that captures the same sense of ease, connection, and quiet beauty we found on that first trip. A place where guests could slow down, breathe deeply, and fall in love with San Pedro just like we did.
Onda means "wave" — and for us, it symbolizes flow, movement, and the rhythm of life here on the island. We built this home to share that rhythm with others and to invite travelers, dreamers, and couples to experience the same magic we felt.
